Hey Kids, Cigarettes are Safe!
On “Safe and Effective” Covid Vaccines – Part One
Joe Moncarz, January 2022

According to the CDC, the FDA, the WHO, your neighborhood Starbucks barista, the guy who mows your lawn, your local school principal, and millions of other people, all of the Covid-19 vaccines are “safe and effective”. Right now I'll just focus on “safe”. Are the vaccines actually safe? Let's use some logic, probability, and uncontroversial facts to figure this out..

“Safe” takes Time

The only way a drug can be considered safe is through long-term testing and long-term study, by independent researchers. That's obviously not been the case here. Thus, the only way to call an admittedly experimental drug as safe requires to re-define what “safe” means. (Kind of like redefining what “attractive” means if you're having trouble finding a date.) You have to narrow the definition. After all, mRNA vaccines have never been used on humans before. At this point, long term effects are impossible to know – because we're still in the short term! The normal process would take five to ten years – and even then it's no guarantee. (Some dangerous drugs and products have been on the market for 50-100 years before being banned, if at all. Asbestos, anyone?) So calling the vaccines “safe” is deceitful, misleading, and unethical. You can't call a new drug safe after less than eight months of testing. (Just like you shouldn't get married after knowing someone for only eight months. Date them for five to ten years first, and then get them “peer-reviewed”.)

But most of us don't think critically about the definition of safety because we've already absorbed the meaninglessness of the word. Nothing in industrial civilization has ever been safe (mining, fossil fuels, cities, racism, poverty, patriarchy, war, slavery, Frosted Flakes, and so on), so many of us don't even care. Like learned helplessness, we don't even fight anymore. And since we've grown up in a pathological environment, we have no concept of what a healthy environment would actually look like. For example, cell phones and WiFi have been spread across the world and we're now drowning in a sea of wireless radiation, but we take it for granted. We don't even think of it. If we grew up covered in horse vomit, we'd think that being covered in horse vomit is normal. (That's a lot of sick horses.) Of course, there was never any long-term testing done on wireless radiation. All evidence of harm was denied, ignored, or covered-up. To date there have been thousands of studies demonstrating harm due to wireless radiation – all of them ignored and denied by safety regulators. (Blank 2014; Carpenter and Sage 2012; Davis 2013; Havis 2008; Lear 2017; Milham and Stetzer 2013; Milham 2012) But now everyone takes wireless radiation for granted. Actually, people tend to see it as their god-given right. They get angry and upset without cell phone reception.

In fact, it was long recognized that there is no safe dose of radiation. Period. (Jamail 2011; Tasker 2011) So when you go to the dentist and he wants to x-ray your mouth, he'll always say it's safe. Sure. You won't drop dead now, you won't develop cancer now, you won't explode now, you won't lose your car keys now. So it's safe! But radiation exposure is cumulative. It adds up, and then later in life the cancer develops, whether due to dental x-rays, WiFi radiation, 5G, 4G, your microwave oven, your cordless phone, your baby monitor, the pylons near your home, the dirty electricity all around you, or your husband's bad breath – or rather, the cumulative effect of all of these.

By this new definition of “safe”, which only refers to the short term, then cigarettes are safe, too. You hear that, kids? Tell your parents it's okay for you to smoke, because they're safe! You won't get sick, you won't get lung cancer this year, or next, or the next – no one ever gets sick or dies from smoking in the short term. Those warnings on the packet are bullshit! Heck, you can drive and smoke, or operate machinery and smoke, and it's still safe. You can smoke while doing your homework! So why won't they let kids smoke? They let kids use cell phones and WiFi. They let kids eat food covered in pesticides. They let kids eat genetically modified food. Heck, they feed kids Oreos – which are actually more addictive than cocaine. (Locker 2013) What hypocrisy! Actually, kids will be much happier and more willing to do homework if they could smoke while doing it. And isn't it just about getting them to shut up and comply? Isn't that ultimately what adults want most? Obedience and compliance? Parents put kids in front of TV (“Baby Einstein”, “Spongebob”, etc.), they give them video games, give them cell phones, give them junk food and fast food, take them to Disney World – all just to placate them, to keep them busy, just so they love you, and to bribe them to do what adults want. And none of those are actually safe or healthy. (We just rationalize to ourselves, “Oh, it's not so bad once in a while.” Yeah, cocaine isn't, either.) They all have negative long term effects. But that doesn't matter anymore, because only the short term matters. So let your kids smoke during homework!

If you only consider short-term consequences, then there's nothing wrong with eating McDonald's (“Look, no heart disease! No weight gain!”), or eating any junk food (“Look, no cavities! No diabetes!”), or having nuclear missiles (“Look how safe they are in their silos. Not hurting anyone.”), nuclear reactors (“Look, electricity!”), social media (“Look how good I look with that filter”). The Exxon Valdez oil tanker was safe (until it poisoned Alaskan waters.) The BP Horizon oil rig was safe (until it exploded and poisoned the Gulf of Mexico.) Mining is safe (until miners die and the poisoned water kills people.) Dumping toxic waste is safe (until the chemicals sicken and kill people.) Filling up the atmosphere with greenhouse gases is safe (until the Earth cannot support life anymore.) And heck, even serial killers are safe (until they're caught). Just like pharmaceutical drugs are safe – until they're not.

You see? If you only look at a short period of time, anything can be called “safe”. Of course, that doesn't make it safe. That just makes you dishonest, a bullshitter, a con artist, and an excellent CEO. And that dishonesty leads to disease, accidents, misery, and death.

“Safe” according to the FDA, CDC, WHO, etc.

Follow the money. The description “safe” loses all meaning when you consider that the approval body – the FDA – gets 45% of its funding from Big Pharma itself – and Big Pharma ends up funding 75% of the FDA's drug review budget. (LaMattina 2018) And as they say, you don't bite the hand that feeds you. The result is a meaningless approval process which is essentially rubber-stamping, rather than reflecting any substance. The WHO gets a huge chunk of its funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, whose mission is to vaccinate everyone on the planet – because there's billions of dollars to be made, not because Bill Gates “cares” - which is why he's against sharing the vaccine “recipes” with poorer countries. (McPhillips 2020; Queally 2021; Zaitchik 2021) And of course, the Wuhan Institute of Virology was getting funding from Dr. Fauci and the NIH for gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses – which Fauci later lied about. (Guterl 2020; Lowe 2021)

This shouldn't be a surprise. Money can make anything “safe.” Cigarette companies used to send doctors free cigarettes, after which the doctors would promote their brand. Many doctors doubted the dangers of smoking and some even promoted cigarettes. (That's medical school for ya.) Today that continues with pharmaceutical agents and lobbyists who shower doctors, scientists, medical schools, medical and science journals, and lawmakers with what are essentially bribes, consisting of anything from free pens, free mugs, free food, free drug samples, to free colonoscopies. (Campbell 2007; Connolly 2012; Delkic 2017; Fung 2018; Greenberg 2003; Hensley 2019; Ornstein and Weber 2019; Potter and Penniman 2017; Sullivan 2019) In 2016, Big Pharma put 100 million dollars into U.S. elections. (Belmonte 2019) And just look at the results – that's money well spent.

The revolving door. (I'm getting dizzy!) The uselessness of the FDA is further reinforced by the fact that employees of the FDA often go to work for Big Pharma. Sometimes employees of Big Pharma later get a job at the FDA. And sometimes they go back and forth. This revolving-door pattern creates what we call a “conflict of interest.” You're thinking about the cushy job waiting for you in Big Pharma. You know how to play it (wink, wink). As my ex used to say, you “play the ball” (and she was no stranger to unethical behavior – wink, wink.)

For example, in 2019, FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb resigned from the FDA, during which time he helped speed up the drug approval process, and then went straight to Pfizer's Board of Directors. (LaVito 2019) This isn't a rare example. Nine of the last ten FDA commissioners went to work in Big Pharma. (Foley 2019)

This revolving door is not just with Big Pharma, it's also societal and cultural. It is not just a U.S. problem, but a global one. It exists between corporations and government in all industries: oil, telecommunications, military, agriculture, banking and finance, infrastructure, and so on. (“Borroso” 2016; Cann and Petitjean 2021; Clark 2018; Claypool 2019; Edwards 2018, 2021; Holman 2019; “Stop” 2021)

Here are some recent U.S. examples:
  • Ron Klain, Biden's current Chief of Staff, was formerly a lobbyist for the asbestos industry, defending them against health claims resulting from asbestos exposure. Klain also worked as a lobbyist for ImClone, a pharmaceutical company later investigated for fraud – and its CEO actually convicted.
  • Jeffrey Zients, President Biden's coronavirus “czar”, was on Facebook's board of directors and was CEO of Wall Street firm Cranemere. (Obviously that experience is relevant to overseeing the Covid response.)
  • Donald Rumsfeld, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, was previously at Searle Pharmaceuticals, now owned by Monsanto. He turned out to be a war criminal.
  • Hillary Clinton used to work for Monsanto. She turned out to be a war criminal.
  • Michael Taylor, former executive at Monsanto, later became the FDA's deputy commissioner under President Obama. (Obama turned out to be a war criminal.)
  • Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was a Monsanto lawyer, chosen by Bush Sr.
  • Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (under Trump) was the CEO of Exxon-Mobil.

You get the idea. Profiting from the destruction of the Earth seems to be the main qualification for getting high-ranking positions in government. Every single high-ranking government official has a corporate background or corporate ties. There is little difference between the government, Wall Street, Big Pharma, weapons manufacturers, and all the other big corporations.

Corporate Cost-Benefit Analysis

The aim is profit. (Remember, it's all about money. Nothing else. Remember that for the quiz at the end.) So corporations will knowingly develop, promote, and sell knowingly dangerous products, so long as they make more money than they might lose from some potential future lawsuits or meaningless government fines. (Just like kids will weigh the punishment for doing something naughty: “Is it worth eating that cookie and then getting yelled at by dad? Sure is!”) The asbestos industry knew for decades (going back to the 1890s) that their product causes cancer and kills people – more than 39,000 people a year, just in the U.S. (Reinstein 2019) Cigarette companies knew for decades that their cigarettes were killing people – roughly 400,000 Americans every year. (So imagine the numbers for the rest of the world.) Oil companies knew for more than fifty years that the burning of fossil fuels was warming the planet and causing climate change – which will likely kill not just most humans, but much of life on Earth.

In the 1970s, Ford Motor Company knowingly rushed the Pinto to market, even after all its own tests showed that the car would burst into flames from being rear-ended, and refused to spend one dollar more to fix the problem. Instead, they felt it was cheaper to endure the lawsuits. They estimated that each dead person would cost them US$200,000. As the President of Ford, Lee Iacocca used to say, “Safety doesn't sell.” An estimated 500-900 people were burned to death by this policy. (“Grimshaw”)

In the 1990s, Ford and Firestone sold defective tires and continued to sell them with knowledge of their deadly defects, and hid that knowledge from customers. (Turner 2001)

Johnson & Johnson knew for decades that their Baby Powder was contaminated with asbestos, a known carcinogen. Now facing some 38,000 lawsuits, they tried to file for bankruptcy to shield their assets. (Girion 2018; Mann 2021)

Facebook and other social media corporations know how addictive and harmful their sites are – because they purposely make them as addictive as possible. (Alter 2021; Wells 2021)

They behave like compulsive or pathological liars. The more lies you tell, sure the odds of getting caught on some of the lies increases, but you get away with even more lies. Regular, decent people just can't cope with nonstop lies. We tend to trust. So we get taken advantage of. Corporations are just institutionalized and legalized pathological liars.

So you take corporations and governments which are already pathological and psychopathic due to the profit imperative, and you then remove the threat of lawsuits, or any accountability. Governments have removed Big Pharma from any liability if the vaccines have serious side effects. This is not the kind of arrangement that promotes ethical behavior and safe products. In fact, it's the most idiotic and insane thing to do. That's like the cops telling serial killers that the laws about murder only apply to other people. (Actually, that's exactly what's going on here.)

But who are we kidding? The laws rarely ever applied to CEOs and corporate executives to begin with. Their drugs kill and injure millions of people, their products kill and injure millions of people, their banking activities throw millions of people into poverty and homelessness – but they rarely ever have been held accountable. They usually get rewarded with a big bonus (and a colonoscopy.) And it's getting even worse. (Hartmann 2022)

The results

Okay, so what kind of world do we end up this? Well, obviously, we end up with this high-stress, high-disease, high-crime, and high-jerk world, where television news barely have enough time to show us the cute and funny animal stories we'd prefer to see. But regarding Big Pharma specifically, the consequence of this corrupt arrangement is not hard to predict.

  • You can't trust industry studies. According to Dr. Jason Fung,“Trials run by industry are 70% more likely than government funded trials to show a positive outcome.” (Fung 2018)
  • Industries cherry-pick which studies to publish. Big Pharma hides any findings that are negative. No surprise there. (Fung 2018)
  • Because industry studies and the approval process are meaningless, safety issues arise later, with humans being their guinea pigs. More than one-quarter of all FDA-approved drugs ended up having safety issues after going to market. For every 100 new drugs, 27 end up being withdrawn or given serious new safety warnings. (Christensen 2017; Saluja 2016)
  • It takes, on average, roughly five years for approved drugs to be withdrawn – and often much longer. (Saluja 2016)
  • Prescription drugs are the third-leading cause of deaths in the U.S. (Gotzsche 2014)
  • 100,000 people are killed by prescription drugs each year in the U.S. - from taking them correctly! (Gotzsche 2014)
  • Another 100,000 people are killed by prescription drugs because of errors, whether theirs or their doctor's (Gotzsche 2014)
  • In fact, prescription drugs kill more people than illegal drugs. (Bonn 2014)
  • Big Pharma is constantly being fined billions of dollars for criminal activity!
    • As Dr Aseem Malhotra, a British cardiologist, recently pointed out, ""Between 2009 and 2014, most of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies have paid fines [for] criminal activity of around US$13 billion for hiding data on harms, illegal marketing of drugs, manipulation of results, and nothing really seems to have changed in the system." (Chung 2021)

Here are some of the more egregious examples:
  • Darvon and Darvocet (opioids) – It took the FDA fifty-five years to ban them, despite thousands of deaths.
    • It was given to ten million patients and was killing between one and two thousand people each year in the U.S.
    • Evidence of harm was known since the 1970s, but it wasn't banned until 2010. (Mundy 2011)
  • Merck killed 120,000 patients with rofecoxib before it was withdrawn in 2004 (Gotzche 2014)
  • Pfizer killed 75,000 people with celecoxib (Celebrex) until 2004, and it's still on the market (Gotzche 2014)
  • Zantac – It took thirty-eight years for it to be removed, for them to determine it is a “probable human carcinogen” - and for what? For heartburn! That's not even a serious condition. (Just lay off the cheeseburgers.)
  • Xigris was removed after ten years because it was found not to have any benefit.
  • Vioxx was prescribed to twenty million people, caused 28,000 heart attacks, and for what – pain relief! You're telling me they had no idea it could have such an effect beforehand? Then what good is the approval process? Or they knew and approved it anyway. Either way, who makes money and who gets screwed?
  • Rezulin was out for only three years and resulted in 90 liver failures, 63 deaths, and 35,000 personal injury claims (in the U.S.) And what was it for? It was an antidiabetic and anti-inflammatory – hardly something that had to be rushed to market. There were plenty of other treatments. And if it caused that much damage in only three years, surely the testing process would have picked up something! (Yes, but remember, negative results are hidden and not reported. Oh yeah, silly me, I forgot.)
  • It took twenty-three years for Quaalude to be banned, and now is considered an illegal drug in the U.S., like cocaine and heroine.
  • It took twenty-seven years to ban Accutane (used for acne) after 7,000 lawsuits were filed against Hoffman-La Roche
  • It took thirty-five years to ban Cylert
  • It took forty-eight years for the FDA to ban PTZ and Metrazol
  • It took nineteen years for Permax
  • It took thirty-one years for DES (Diethylstibestrol), a synthetic estrogen given to pregnant women, even though it was found to be ineffective decades before – and it was found to cause various forms of cancer as well as birth defects and other birth abnormalities

So “safe”? You're going to trust these people? Come on, you're smarter than that!

Effective?

And finally, are the vaccines even effective? Well, according to Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, no, they aren't! He admitted less than a week ago, “The two doses, they’re not enough for omicron.” (Kimball 2022)

Dr. Luc Montagnier, Nobel Prize-winning virologist, recently said in the Wall Street Journal (co-authored with Jed Rubenfield):

As of Jan. 1, Omicron represented more than 95% of U.S. COVID cases, according to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Because some of Omicron’s 50 mutations are known to evade antibody protection, because more than 30 of those mutations are to the spike protein used as an immunogen by the existing vaccines, and because there have been mass Omicron outbreaks in heavily vaccinated populations, scientists are highly uncertain the existing vaccines can stop it from spreading. (Montagnier and Rubenfield 2022)

In fact, the WHO has just released a statement in which they admit:  "[A] vaccination strategy based on repeated booster doses of the original vaccine composition is unlikely to be appropriate or sustainable."  (“Interim Statement” 2022)

So basically, they're saying that the current vaccines do little. But what do they now recommend? That we need new vaccines! (The logic is kind of like: How do we lower the use of fossil fuels? By using more fossil fuels! Which is exactly what the push for solar panels, windmills, electric cars, and Green New Deals are all about.) But given the frequency with which new “variants of concern” emerge, and the length of time it takes for Big Pharma to rush through the development of even more untested and unsafe vaccines, it should be clear that our desperation for quick fix vaccines from Big Pharma and their Big Pharma Bimbos will lead us to even more trouble. Vaccines ain't the way!

You would wonder whether Big Pharma is incorporating “planned obsolescence” into the vaccines. After all, corporations do it with every single other product they make. The last thing they want is for their product to last and for you not to have to keep buying more of their products. Booster shots and the need for “new and better” vaccines (ie, the latest model) – it's the same thing. They don't want to “cure” Covid anymore than they want to cure cancer – sick people are worth too much. (Epstein 1998; Moss 1996; Sloan 2018) Just as war (i.e. mass death and destruction) is awesome for business. (Cockburn 2021; Feinstein 2012; Hartung 20212; Schwarz 2021) But actually, even if they did want to make a once-and-for-all vaccine for Covid, they could not. Nature will always find a way around modern humanity's supposed cleverness. It's the same ridiculous mentality that makes us think we can “eradicate pests” - as in New Zealand's idiotic “Predator Free 2050” and “Pest Free Auckland”. (“Pest Free” 2018; “Predator Free” 2020)

The bottom line is, the Precautionary Principle tells us that the safe thing to do is to not get the Covid vaccine unless we are in a high-risk category, to not get the boosters, and to not give our children the vaccines. They cannot be called safe.

And they don't even work.

Go eat some Oreos. (wink wink)

Part Two will cover:
  • The FDA and Big Pharma's role in causing and prolonging the opioid crisis (killing more than 760,000 people in the U.S.) which began in the 1990s and still continues, killing 75,000 annually
  • More red flags concerning the behavior of the FDA, such as refusing to release Pfizer vaccine safety data
  • The CDC refusing to release vaccine safety data
  • Flaws and safety issues in the Pfizer vaccine trials
  • The FDA covering up and denying the benefits of Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine in treating Covid-19
  • The FDA, CDC, and WHO, knowing that lockdowns were a bad idea, but changing their minds (for reasons other than health, of course)
  • The pursuit of lockdowns despite the horrific effects on children's mental and physical health
  • A hand-drawn sketch of Dr. Fauci picking his nose

But you don't need to wait for Part Two. Do I even need to write it? I'd much rather be outside catching coronaviruses with my butterfly net.
